About us

Fem Ius was founded with the mission of advocating for all women to be able to fully exercise their rights, free from discrimination and violence.
We take a holistic, interdisciplinary approach to our work, building networks and bonds with other women and professionals in different areas.
Who do we work with and for?
Women
We defend women’s rights through political advocacy and strategic litigation and accompaniment.
We work as part of a network of organisations and professionals supporting survivors of gender-based violence as part of a rights-based approach that seeks to help them recover and respects their individual pace and needs.
NGOs, social organisations and movements, and feminist professionals
We conduct sociolegal research to detect strengths and weaknesses in laws, policies, plans and protocols that affect women’s rights and equality, suggesting specific measures to guarantee a response that is aligned with human rights standards.
We provide guidance on the creation, monitoring, evaluation and improvement of equality and non-violence plans and protocols.
We participate in political advocacy, contributing our ample experience and knowledge of the European Union context.
We train people who work with survivors of gender-based violence to guarantee that their rights are respected, preventing revictimisation and facilitating access to protection, support and redress under International, European and national law.
